John Abendroth is a native San Franciscan, former PGA-Tour player, a PGA Member, and a graduate of Weber State University (Ogden Ut. '74).

As a co-founder of Celtic Golf Management in San Francisco, John is their Director of Golf Operations for that company which owns Franklin Canyon Golf Course and owns and operates the Plumas Pines Golf Resort. John is co-host of Hooked on Golf since 1994 (Fox Sports Bay Area and KNBR-680 am and www.hookedongolf.com).
As an advocate for junior golf, John was co-chairman of the San Francisco Junior Golf Championship for 17 years and has operated several other junior golf events. In 2005 he co-founded the Hooked on Golf Foundation to benefit junior golf, was the founder of the Golf Hall of Fame of Northern California, and the San Francisco Open Golf Championship.
John graduated from A. Lincoln High School in San Francisco, the same school as U.S. Open champions Ken Venturi and Johnny Miller
