Search Engine Optimization is both a creative and technical process through which a web site is configured and coded in a way to enhance its natural ability to be found by popular search engines. Sites are then ranked in the results that are returned in response to a users “keyword” search. These are among the many factors involved in good search engine marketing. I will leverage my hands-on experience to deliver these best practices in an ethical and ef fective manner so that you achieve desirable search engine ranking and positioning and maximize your overall search investment.
Site Analysis includes reviewing your web site to determine its search engine “crawl-ability” and providing detailed statistics and specific advice on how you can optimize your existing pages to rank higher on each major search engine. Since its important to design a web site for the end user, this analysis is paired with design feedback that includes analyzing your existing pages for ease of navigation, design layout and overall content.
Keywords and keyword phrases are one of the key factors influencing natural search engine results and rankings. The “spiders” that search engines send out to crawl web sites are looking for and reading these keywords and phrases, and subsequently, indexing pages of the site based on their relevancy to the search term. Therefore, keyword analysis will involve researching and identif ying the proper target keywords in order to capitalize on the search terms that best describes your business, market, service, amenities, location, etc.
Knowing what words and phrases people might use to search the web and find your site is an essential component of any well-executed search engine positioning campaign. It begins with understanding how your site ranks in its current form. This involves running a preliminary detailed report that identifies how your site ranks among the major search engines (Google, MSN and Yahoo) versus your competitors by summarizing your site's listings, ranking and position based on the keywords identified in the analysis.
I will perform research to determine if your site is included in the indexes of the major “crawler-based” search engines (Google, MSN and Yahoo) where more than 80% of searches originate. I will also ensure that you are listed in specific directories as well as appropriate Tier 2 search engines.
