With two rounds in the books at Pebble Beach your leaders on the scoreboard are Ted Potter Jr and Brandt Snedeker...but who is the real leader?
With the unique format of playing three different golf courses over the Monterey Peninsula, it is hard to really know who is in the lead...and Mother Nature will have a lot to say about that. Potter will play the tough Spyglass Hill golf course Saturday and he expressed concern for the length of the golf course in the media room on Friday...You could argue for Snedeker as he plays Pebble Beach on Saturday and Fredrik Jacobson who plays the Monterey Peninsula Country Club Saturday.
In the case of Jacobson, he has had back and neck issues and seemed concerned about the possible cool weather and how that would effect him.
So I think the paint in the field at this point is Snedeker, with a win this year already, coming off a huge 2012 and playing with great confidence, he came back Friday from an early double bogey at Spyglass Hill to shoot 68 and jump into the tie for the lead late in the day.
It will be an exciting weekend at Pebble, with the weather expected to be good, with some wind for the players to contend with.
Another player to watch is James Hahn, currently tied for 7th, on the brink of making his 5th straight cut in his rookie season on the PGA Tour. I feel at 31 his age is a benefit...as he is not a young rookie, and that can really make a difference.
