The Grumpy Golfer on Slow Play

How come it takes so long to play golf?
As another tribute to Andy Rooney and how he would look at the game of golf...have you ever thought about why it takes so long to play golf?
Not everybody needs to play really fast, but golfers should be aware of those behind them. On most highways you may see a sign that says, "Slower traffic stay to right..."
It's good manners to let faster golfers play through if there is room for them to move ahead.
What causes people to play slow anyway?
Not ready? Pay attention and be ready when it is your turn.
Bad player? Don't take 5-swings in a bunker or line-up the 5th putt, pick it up and move on.
Course too tough? Ask for your money back or play the most forward tees, it will be more fun and stop the dirty looks.
Golf is not just about the rules, but good manners...have fun...stay in touch.
